COVID-19 Travel Regulations In The U.S.
Firstly, travelers must show proof of complete vaccination before boarding U.S.-bound planes to travel into the United States. Also, a COVID-19 test taken within three days of departure; the COVID-19 test must show negative results. There is no quarantine mandate, but you must follow up with contact tracing and regularly wear a mask. Unlike air travel, for which proof of a negative COVID-19 test is needed before boarding a flight to enter the U.S., no testing will be required to enter the U.S. by land or sea, provided the travelers meet the fully vaccinated requirement.
All airline passengers to the United States ages two years and older must provide a negative COVID-19 viral test taken within three calendar days of travel. Alternatively, travelers to the U.S. may provide documentation from a licensed health care provider of having recovered from COVID-19 in the 90 days preceding the trip. Most importantly, during and after travel, remember to follow local/state requirements, including wearing a mask and social distancing.
The CDC advice: Not To Travel Internationally Until You Are Fully Vaccinated! And closely follow up with the COVID-19 rates and increased risks before traveling.
International Travel
International Travel (Entering): Plan to travel internationally; you will need to get a viral test no more than three days before traveling by air out of the United States. Furthermore, you will show a negative result to the airline before boarding your flight. Be prepared to show recovery documentation (proof of a recent positive viral test and a letter from your healthcare provider or a public health official stating clearance for travel). Followed by closely keeping in mind any other restrictions and regulations from the destination you are arriving at.
International Travel (Leaving): The CDC announced an order requiring all air passengers before arriving in the U.S. from a foreign country to get tested three days before the flight departure. Present a negative result or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 to the airline before the flight. In addition, passengers will also need to confirm the validity of the information they present in the form of attestation.
North American Travel
Canada (Entering U.S.): Fully vaccinated U.S. citizens traveling for non-essential reasons can enter Canada. All travelers must use the ArriveCAN system to enter their traveler information, including proof of vaccination, before arriving in Canada. Include a paper or digital copy of their proof of vaccination with them. Proof of immunization is needed, also providing a negative COVID-19 test for those age five and older. Canada has implemented randomized on-arrival COVID-19 molecular testing for fully vaccinated travelers.
Canada (Leaving U.S.): All passengers on flights arriving at Canadian airports must wear a non-medical mask or face covering that covers their mouth and nose. If you are considered a fully vaccinated traveler, you also do not have to do on-arrival testing unless you are selected for a mandatory randomized test. Mexico (Entering U.S.): The CDC has recommended traveling vaccinated before entering Mexico. Unvaccinated travelers should avoid nonessential travel to Mexico. The same applies to cruise ships, rivers, and worldwide travel.
Mexico (Leaving U.S.): As you enter back into the United States through air travel, you must provide a negative COVID-19 viral test taken within three calendar days of travel. If you are crossing the border by land, then a COVID-19 test is not required.
COVID-19 Travel Guidelines In Canada
Effective October 30, 2021, all Canadian travelers must be vaccinated to travel by air, rail, or passenger vessel. This order will also apply to travelers on cruise ships when the cruise season commences in 2022. After this date, there will be limited exceptions to accommodate specific situations
such as emergency travel and those medically unable to be vaccinated. To be considered a fully vaccinated traveler in Canada, you need to be fully vaccinated 14 full days before your travel day. All travelers must use the ArriveCAN system to enter their traveler information. You’ll need to submit your information within 72 hours before your return to Canada. ArriveCAN is where you will upload proof of vaccination card, no signs/symptoms of COVID-19, and pre-entry test results. If you qualify as a fully vaccinated traveler, then you are exempt from manda
tory quarantine.
International Travel
International travel (Entering): Qualifying as a fully vaccinated traveler takes the hassle away as you would need to input your data into ArriveCAN before/after departing. Requirements are then specific to the international destination traveled to.
International Travel (Leaving): If by arriving through air travel and show symptoms, you will be directed to a federal quarantine facility or place of isolation. Arriving by land, you are required to make and input your quarantine plans ahead of time if you might have to quarantine. This can all be completed through ArriveCAN. And if you are a fully vaccinated traveler with no symptoms, then you are excused from quarantine.
North American Travel

Passengers and aircrew members arriving at a Mexican Airport may be subject to health screenings, including temperature checks. If you are exhibiting symptoms, you may be subject to further screening and quarantine. All travelers are required to fill out the questionnaire online. Ensure you
keep the QR code issued as confirmation and show it to the airport staff at security checkpoints.
International Travel
International (Entering): Besides filling out the designated questionnaire online, there are no other specified requirements to travel outside from Mexico. Requirements are then specific to the international destination traveled to.
International (Leaving): When you arrive back to Mexico, you msg fill out the questionnaire, and follow up with any symptoms, and possible quarantine mandate.
North American Travel
United States (Entering Mexico): According to Mexico’s COVID-19 travel guidelines, a negative COVID-19 test is not required for entry. Although, due to high risk sights and local guidelines, it is still recommended to follow mask and distancing procedures. In order to depart from an American airline, you will need to present a negative COVID-19 test.
United States (Leaving Mexico): You must provide a COVID-19 test within the three calendar days before flight departure or documentation of recovery from a COVID_19 infection within the last 90 days for air passengers entering the United States. Remember that COVID-19 tests done in Mexico cost around $800-$4,500 Pesos, depending on where you obtain your results.
Canada (Entering Mexico): A negative COVID-19 test is not required for entry to Mexico. Although, due to high-risk sights and local guidelines, it is still recommended to follow mask and distancing procedures according to where your final destination is. At the airport, you will also be required to fill out the questionnaire online.
Canada (Leaving Mexico): Upon arriving to the airport, you will have to fill the questionnaire online once more. Then, if you are qualified s a fully vaccinated traveler, then keeping up with your ArriveCAN is going to be your primary focus.
