The resort is spacious yet easily walkable—and wheelchair accessible. We especially loved the pool area, which offers multiple pools to choose from. There’s no need to wake up at 6 a.m. to claim a spot, as plenty of sun umbrellas provide welcome shade during the hottest hours of the day. For a casual bite, a taco truck operates poolside during lunch, and if you prefer to escape the heat indoors, the restaurants are just a short walk away. Poolside drinks were delicious and served perfectly chilled, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. On top of that, there’s always something happening, with a variety of daily pool activities to keep guests entertained.

Next on our tour was Hard Rock Riviera Maya, and we can honestly say this resort quickly became our favorite of the AIC properties—and here’s why. Service throughout the resort was friendly and attentive, rooms were spacious and spotless, and the beach was beautifully maintained. The resort layout makes it easy to navigate while still offering plenty of space for relaxation. AVA offers a fresh, modern take on the all-inclusive experience, combining luxury, innovation, and effortless style. The resort’s architecture is sleek and contemporary, with open-air spaces and breathtaking ocean views that make every moment feel like a scene from a travel magazine.
From check-in, the experience feels elevated—smooth, welcoming, and polished. The lobby exudes sophistication, and the staff set the tone with their warm hospitality and attention to detail. When it comes to dining at AVA Resort Cancun, there’s plenty to enjoy—but not everything hits the same high note. Breakfast was a bit of a mixed experience for us. The buffet itself was fine, but long lines to get in and wait for popular stations, like the omelette bar, made mornings feel a little hectic.
That said, lunch and dinner services especially the special themed restaurants were fantastic. Each offered fresh, flavorful dishes that felt thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. For something sweet, we loved stopping by the gelato and crêpe stations, which were fun, indulgent touches that added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meals.
Overall, AVA Resort Cancun offers a diverse and elevated dining experience. While breakfast could use some improvements, the variety, quality, and creativity of the other dining options make it a culinary highlight of the resort.
