Welcome to Guide Me Away! I’m Lia Hershkovitz and the founder of Guide Me Away, a company focused on helping people explore the world. Originally from Israel (feel free to contact us in Hebrew!), living in Vancouver, Canada for the past 12 years.
Like many of you, I have an enormous passion for travel. It is something that I truly believe opens doors, expands the mind, and brings meaning to life unlike anything else. Because of this, I chose to dedicate much of my life to traveling and learning more about our incredible planet.
Throughout my life, I’ve explored countless countries across Asia, The Americas, Europe, Africa, and The Middle East, discovering some life-changing places and people along the way. Over the last 12 years, I also helped travelers experience the joy of travel through Guide Me Away.
My philosophy is that travel should be a personal, unique, and eye-opening adventure. In addition, opening doors to other cultures and diverse ways of life. As a member of the gay community, I understand first-hand the importance of being open and accepting of others, and how it can benefit you, as well as those around you. In addition, I always make sure that our tours are tailored to you, and our travelers get to see a real representation of the places they visit – something easily be missed on more mainstream vacations.
Through my passion for travel, I have built strong relationships with some world-class suppliers and gained the industry certificates* to help me build your perfect trip, every time.
In the end, my goal is simply to make people happy, so that’s what Guide Me Away is all about. Above all, I and the team look forward to helping you enjoy the experience of a lifetime.
Born and raised in Nanaimo, British Columbia. After that, I moved to Vancouver at the age of 27 to further my career ambitions. After graduating with a diploma in Acting for Film & Television, I landed many projects in Film, Television, Commercials and Voice-Over.
However, my greatest achievement came in the form of Live Theater for my ensemble involvement in the representation of persons with disabilities for the award-winning Creeps. For example, As someone living with a physical disability, I recognize many of the obstacles and added challenges that travelers face. In other words, I am an expert in the world of accessible travel. Above all, I find great pride in helping other travelers with disabilities.
Moreover, I completed my certificates in Travel and Tourism at the Canadian Tourism College in 2019. After this, the team at Guide Me Away as a licensed Travel Consultant especially on client fulfillment and an advocate for persons with disabilities.
In addition, I am an expert in the world of travel with a focus on ocean cruises, river cruises, family-friendly adventures and all-inclusive vacations to worldly-renowned attractions like Disney and Universal. I am readily available to fulfill the need of your family’s perfect dream getaway.
