Guide Me Away’s History
Founded in 2016, Guide Me Away is focused on helping people explore the world. The CEO, Lia Hershkovitz, is originally from Israel (feel free to contact us in Hebrew!) and has been living in Vancouver, Canada, for the past 12 years. Like many of you, those of us at Guide Me Away have an enormous passion for travel. It is something that we genuinely believe opens doors, expands the mind, and brings meaning to life unlike anything else.
Our agents have explored countless countries across Asia, the Americas, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East throughout our lives, discovering life-changing places and people along the way.
For over five years, Guide Me Away has helped travellers experience the joy of travel.
Our philosophy is that travel should be a personal, unique, and eye-opening adventure. We will always make sure that your vacation is tailored to your preferences and that you get to see and experience more unique and special places.
We have built strong relationships with some world-class suppliers through our passion for travel and gained the industry certifications to help make your perfect trip every time.
In the end, Guide Me Away’s goal is to make people happy as they have the best experiences of their lives.
Meet Our Team
I’m Lia Hershkovitz. SHE/HER.
After 16 years working in the travel industry and talking to many of you great folks, I have decided to open my own travel agency to better serve my clients.
Guide Me Away is in business since 2016!
I specialize in all-inclusive vacations, honeymoon vacations, groups and corporate travel. I of course can be your travel resource outside of these areas as well.
I’m a CTC certified agent and regularly attend tradeshows for travel agents to continually expand my knowledge of new products and places and create connections with suppliers and managers. These personal connections I have developed over the years allows me to create extra special vacations for my clients with perks that help your dollars go far. This includes: room upgrades, Special requests, and amazing prices that you can’t find online.
People ask me why it’s better to book with a travel expert. I believe, like many things in life, you can do it yourself; the question to ask, is how do you value your time? You can spend hours searching for flights and looking at thousands of hotels, or you can be with your family or take a yoga class while I save you time and take care of you personally. And at the end of the day, we have all heard or experienced travel horror stories that result with hours on hold with an airline or travel website when you should be enjoying your hard earned vacation. With me, you limit your frustrations – No more waiting on hold, no more getting someone new on the phone every time, no hang ups or dropped calls.
I am not selling a product. I’m selling a feeling, I am selling trust, I am selling a relationship.
If you are looking for a reliable, experienced agent who will go the extra step for you, I’m your agent.
Please keep me in mind as you look to book your next vacation and pass on my name to your contacts.
Thank you for your attention, friendship and business! I look forward to working with you!

TRAVEL AGENT/DISABILITY TRAVEL SPECIALIST
My name is Aaron Busch, I am a licensed Travel Agent through Guide Me Away with a supplemental specialty in accessible travel for individuals with mobility challenges.
Prior to becoming a Travel Agent, I booked my trips through reputable Travel Agencies in British Columbia. While the bulk of these Travel Agents claimed
to be proficient in booking these itineraries, the repercussions from not making adequate inquiries resulted in (1) partial or irreparable damage to my wheelchair on multiple occasions or (2) the awkward disembarkation from the plane because they could not load the wheelchair into cargo. This primarily happens when the mobility device is too large to be enplaned and is a direct result of the booking party’s inadequate communication with the client and the Airline.
As time progressed, I became more self-sufficient in the travel planning process.
I began to transition from booking through third parties upon recognizing that certain Travel Agents would book the itinerary but neglected to collect or relay any relevant information that might disrupt my travel plans. Concurrently, the Airline would be waiting on specific information relative to the specifications of
my wheelchair (at the responsibility of such Travel Agents) which I had to rectify. This is a prerequisite in the stipulations of booking a traveler with a disability and the result of such carelessness can be catastrophic.
In 2019, I graduated from the Canadian Tourism College and joined the team at Guide Me Away as a licensed Travel Agent / Disability Travel Specialist, proudly accommodating travelers from all walks of life.
